Daffodils edge the towpaths and nature seems to be at its most vibrant. likewise, it's hard not to be swept away by the poetic sights of autumn; with the golden, red and brown leaves fluttering down around you and the refreshing, crisp air of the countryside. There are occasional canal closures during the winter season, but for the most part it's a peaceful time to take a canal holiday: with morning winter mists and a tranquil atmosphere on even the most popular of cruising routes.
